Fresh air and the smell of the environment are a key to immersing oneself in a place. But not all of us have the luxury of traveling the world; so the brilliant designer Yeontaek Lee came up with the next best thing: Air Jumper!
Air fresheners like the kinds you get in a can from Wal-Mart or Target may create a pleasant artificial fragrance in a room, but Febreeze doesn’t actually smell like the Tropics and Air Wick doesn’t really smell like a mountain forest. Air Jumper, however, does not use synthetic scents to transport you to other places.
Instead, Air Jumper also emits the same temperature, humidity, and other elements to truly bring other parts of the world to you. Simply select a destination on its display, and it will replicate the environment. For those who love to travel but do not have the time, this is an excellent solution.
Air Jumper would also function as an air purifier, like a Honeywell HEPA filter or HoMedics Hypoallergenic HEPA air cleaner. It would, of course, be a much more advanced purifier with touch screen interface and hovering ability. It would, of course, be something built in the future when there are more capabilities for this type of gadget.
Ironically similar to the concept surrounding Ben Elton’s stage play, Gasping, this is a somewhat far-fetched idea for the moment. But hopefully designs like this will become a reality in the future!
