iaMedium is the next generation system to unify the distribution of advertising to all demographics while at the iaMedium time providing public safety messaging. iaMedium was designed to meet three objectives:
1.Implement a public safety messaging and evacuation control system. 2.Protect citizens in metropolitan areas by providing a comprehensive network of security cameras and nuclear, radiological, and other WMD sensors and by providing a first responder communications system to ensure total, reliable broadcasting in the event of an emergency situation. 3.Provide funding through a unique advertising and publishing channel that has sufficient demographics to ensure its success, thereby allowing the iaMedium system to be deployed at minimal cost to the metropolitan area or city, while sharing the advertising revenues. iaMedium provides advertisers access to a new distribution channel that reaches all demographics. Advertisers and marketers have dreamed of a unified marketing system that pinpoints advertising and proximity marketing through numerous strategically located terminals throughout a city. Each terminal has the capability of displaying unique messaging, in various languages, on a per location basis-in short, an advertiser's dream.
Going beyond out-of-home advertising generating an additional source of revenue for cities and municipalities.
When the iaMedium terminals are not needed for emergency communication, they display advertising and public service announcements.
The " out-of-home" advertising industry has proven successful at capturing the public's attention and turning 30-second advertisements into a revenue stream.
Although funding today's security requirements seems like a tall order, iaMedium's financial model is realistic and achievable. For example, 1,000 terminals could generate $1B annually based on $1.50 per 30-second advertisement. Revenue generated will be shared with the city or municipality on a 80:20 basis until the system is paid for and then on a 70:30 basis over the remaining life of the contract or concession period.
IaMedium proposes tapping into this market with expanded emergency management capabilities to serve the public good by providing important information on emergency situations, crowd control, traffic management, evacuation routing, and news reports.
IMPROVING PUBLIC SAFETYTARGETED COMMUNICATIONS PROVIDING PERTINENT REAL-TIME INFORMATION
iaMedium offers strategic two-way communications and messaging across the network during area-wide emergencies such as acts of terror, natural disasters, and acute traffic congestion due, for example, to road closures, construction activity, accidents, or delayed or cancelled public transportation.
iaMedium's flexibility provides the ability to change and pinpoint the content on one terminal in a geographic area or across the entire system, depending on need. Its customized coverage can change from hour to hour and location to location and can be offered in any language to match the target population.
iaMedium allows public officials and emergency management personnel to pinpoint communications to business districts, neighborhoods, and surrounding suburbs so that when incidents occur they can discourage, if not prevent, tens of thousands of additional commuters from entering the affected areas during emergency or evacuation situations.
INNOVATIVE SYSTEMS FOR FUNDING SECURITY INITIATIVESA SYSTEM FOR EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS AND DETECTION
iaMedium meets future security needs by integrating both wired and wireless technologies to detect and report the presence of nuclear/radioactive, chemical, biological, explosive, hazardous, and contraband materials. Other components include cameras and loudspeakers for emergency messaging. The integrated sensors enclosed within each ruggedized iaMedium terminal include hardware- and software-based " intelligent agents" that allow direct communication between first responders and command and control. iaMedium incorporates four of Ia's detection systems, described below.
Nuclear/Radioactive Isotope Detection System
Computer-Aided Trace Detection System (CATD) (where applicable)
Incident Video Synchronization System (IVSS)
Global Operations Monitoring and Analysis Center (GOMAC)
iaMedium incorporates multiple technologies for detection of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), multi-camera archiving, first-responder communications, and monitoring. Deployed throughout metropolitan areas, mass transit systems, ships, ferries, public buildings, and other critical infrastructures, iaMedium works continuously throughout natural disasters (e.g., floods), WMD attacks, and other crises to deliver public and emergency messaging (e.g., public service messages, traffic and crowd control, and evacuation routing). iaMedium offers a unique solution for emergency communications and it serves multiple functions:
Providing city official with direct and daily communications access to citizens
Providing an ongoing communications and alert system
Targeting emergency messaging and instruction in multiple languages (pinpointed messaging to specific iaMedium terminals) ensuring people are informed and can respond accordingly in an emergency (e.g., rerouting traffic)
Supplementing traffic management with updates on delays, construction, detours, and accidents
INTEGRATED SENSORS AND EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION SYSTEMPROVIDING A SECOND LINE OF DEFENSE FOR PUBLIC SAFETY AND RESPONSE INITIATIVES
The public face of iaMedium is two ruggedized, flat-screen LCD monitors with integrated sensors and smart technology for detection of weapons of mass destruction and hazardous/contraband materials. iaMedium terminals can be installed and deployed throughout metropolitan areas at public transportation stations, inside rail cars and buses, at bus stops and shelters, in key strategic buildings (e.g., Sears Tower), and at high-attendance events (e.g., Superbowl). Its features can include:
Ia's Nuclear/Radioactive Isotope Detection System
Ia's Computer-Aided Trace Detection System (CATD)
Ia's First Responder Communications Relay and Interoperability
Ia's Incident Video Synchronization System (IVSS)
Ruggedized, weather resistant, and bulletproof construction
Battery backup power supply
High-bright or color transflective screens
Option to customize voice and video messages to each iaMedium terminal
Satellite and cellular communications
The iaMedium offers two design models without compromising the integrity of the security solutions, media distribution, or public safety messaging. iaMedium terminal is designed for entrances, gateways, and atria. iaMedium pole is designed for urban streets to reduce the footprint.
